Humanity, high yielding - self seeding

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Heibernate-IF _ Not Sleeping, Dying

'Not Sleeping, Dying', is from the Snakeskin Sketchbook Series.
It is really an illustrated response to a dream I had the other night in which death (my own) played a prominent part.
It reminded me of the Tears for Fears song 'Mad World'
and the lyric;
'I find it kind of funny,
I find it kind of sad,
The dreams in which I'm dyin'
are the best I've had,'
I find it hard to tell you
'Cause I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very, very
                                         ...Mad world'

Death and the Raven

Death and the Raven is from the Snakeskin sketchbook series.
Raven has a habit of showing up here and there at some of the more inopportune moments of life.

Medium is pen & ink with on a digitally created background. The deep background here also has a texture from the scanned snakeskin cover of the Snakeskin Sketchbook itself.

Available once again at Redbubble and Artflakes.
