Purely a character study of attitude. 'Vanity, on Display' is another from the Snakeskin Sketchbook series of drawing. Vanity was inspired by a bull I had seen recently at the 'Mudgee Small Field Farm Days'. The bull had a sign on it's pen which said, 'keep back, bull hates small children'.
He's a great character. Love the style. As for the sign, I'd hate children and everyone else, too, if I were stuck in little pen all day. : /
ReplyDeleteHaha! You can't say the farmer didn't warn everyone. I might have graffitied the sign to read "Keep back, bull is just a huge jerk."
ReplyDeleteI like the crosshatching in your illustration, I haven't done that in ages and your picture inspires me to pick up my old crowquill pen. Thanks for sharing.
this is awesome i love how stylized it is :) I love the big cute eyes :D
ReplyDeleteThanks all for the positive feedback.
ReplyDeleteYes Meng, pick up that crowquill! I put it down for many years in favour of my commercial work and its digital output. I've since returned to the pen & ink for some larger pieces I've been working on. Many of the smaller pieces from the Snakeskin Sketchbook series however have been done using various gel ink pens from staedtler as the crowquill since its not always convenient to use the ink bottle.
